I have knit close to 50 pair of these great little slippers, for men (w/o the rose of course), women & children. Everyone just loves them! They have a double soul, so they provide great comfort for standing on hard, cold tile for a long day of cooking or folding laundry. They are very warm and because they are felted in hot water in an agitating washing machine, they last for a long time, and hold their shape well. My grandchildren often show up for a sleep-over with no other shoes, so they travel to McDonald's just fine.
My nephew, Charlie, was sent home from school (High School -- mind you) for wearing them. The School Principal said they did not have souls and, therefore, were not classified as shoes. He immediately called me and asked if I could attach leather patches to the bottom of them. I did this, and he was back in school, wearing them the next day. His were black, so they really did look like shoes.
At Christmastime, I knit 6 pair for gifts, including this pair, which are mine!
These are my old slippers, which have served me well for the past four years, with daily wearing and many cold water washings. But, you can see the souls are giving out at the toe.
